2. Icky-Pedia

3. Canberra Heritage Festival

Who doesn’t love a festival? And this year’s theme My Culture, My Story will highlight what makes a place special and the idea of sharing our cultural identities. There are so many different events taking place across the 16 days, we are looking forward to the Jane Austen Festival, boomerang making and Bush Tucker tours by Woodlands & Wetlands Trust and Spooky Friday 13th Weird Canberra Ghost and History Tour.

4. Questacon

Science can be fun, exciting even with a day out at Questacon! In addition to the interactive exhibitions and daily shows running, these holidays book your 10 to 15 year old into one of the Holiday Workshops

5. Australian War Memorial

In the lead up to the commemorations at the Australian War Memorial on ANZAC Day, there are interesting and educational activities being run throughout the school holidays.

  • Family Tours bring to life the stories of the Australian War Memorial in an interesting way for the whole family.
  • Make and Create sessions run on Thursday and Fridays during the school holidays where families can craft and learn in 90 minute sessions.
  • Step into the shoes of our service men and women, literally! Try on uniforms, see objects and hear stories in Hands-on History.

6. National Museum of Australia

Delve deeper into the current exhibition The Art of Science: Baudin’s Voyagers 1800 – 1804 with the Voyages of Discovery school holiday program.
