Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre
With over 200 interactive exhibits to explore, across eight themed galleries, there’s something for visitors of all ages to enjoy. Free-fall down a six metre slide, freeze your own shadow, experience an earthquake or challenge a robot to a game of air hockey. The youngest scientists will enjoy Mini Q as they play, discover and learn in a gallery specifically for 0-6 year olds.

Nature and Outdoors
During winter, enjoy a fun snow experience at Corin Forest, located around 45 minutes drive from Crowne Plaza Canberra. Activities including toboganning, a beginners ski slope and snow play.
Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve is around 40 minutes drive from the city centre. There is a large wetlands ecosystem with a wheelchair accessible pathway, 22 marked trails for short walks to all day bushwalks and a Nature Discovery Playground. Ranger-guided activities are held on selected days during weekends and school holidays.
For something closer to the hotel, hire bicycles (available at Concierge) and enjoy a leisurely ride around the Lake. Visit the Australian National Botanic Gardens to enjoy a picnic on the lawns, take a stroll along one of the walks or discover the diverse flora and fauna. The National Arboretum Canberra has a fabulous playground – the Pod Playground – set in a stunning location.
Sport and Adventure
The sports fans in your life will enjoy a guided tour of the Australian Institute of Sport, Australia’s premier elite sports precinct. Included in the tour price is the chance to experience Sportex, an interactive sports exhibit. Stromlo Forest Park is a popular destination for bike-loving families, with over 50km of cross-country trails. For indoor adventure, there’s the Skyzone trampoline park or Canberra Indoor Rock Climbing – check out the school holidays special offer.
