Floriade is Canberra’s highly popular annual celebration of spring. The event is now in its 29th year after starting in 1988 and has over 400,000 visitors each year.
Floriade 2016 – Australia’s biggest celebration of spring
Thousands of bright spring blooms will be on display throughout Commonwealth Park, including the tulip and other spring flowers. In addition to the flower beds, there are many activities on offer including floral displays, horticultural and cooking workshops, photography workshops, entertainment, family activities and the stunning evening event, NightFest.
During the month-long event visitors will pick up expert gardening tips, watch celebrity chefs cook up a storm, be inspired by a selection of Australia’s most inventive individuals and explore our country’s diverse multicultural identity.
Over 5 nights during Floriade from Wednesday 28 September until Sunday 2 October, NightFest enthralls audiences with spectacular light shows, roving entertainers, comedians, night markets, musicians, food and wine. Nightfest is a paid, ticketed event. Visit the Floriade website for ticket information.
Entry during the day is FREE throughout the festival.
