Crowne Plaza Canberra is proud to continue its partnership with the University of Canberra Capitals for the 2017-18 Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) season.

The University of Canberra Capitals have played in the WNBL since 1984 and have won seven Championships in that time.

For the 2017-18 season, the UC Capitals will be playing in 10 home games in Canberra, at their new home court at the National Convention Centre, Canberra. The National Convention Centre is located only a two minute walk from Crowne Plaza Canberra. Basketball fans can now watch live basketball games in Canberra’s city centre at the Royal Theatre, with premium seating, a climate controlled environment and free wifi.
Head Coach Paul Goriss is leading the team for the second year. Seven-time WNBL championship winner Natalie Hurst is captain of the University of Canberra Capitals during the 2017/18 WNBL competition, with Kate Gaze as Vice Captain.
